Phase 1: For this evening's Adventure, we were honored to host D2's parents, Bea and Roger, who were visiting from Germany and had just returned from a trip to Yellowstone. C kindly offered to MC the festivities; everyone agreed that she had mastered the art of mastering ceremonies.* Thus we ascended, accompanied by light rain and topless joggers, to Woods Quarry and its ancient (if dilapidated stone Adirondack chairs).
Phase 2: Chautauqua Dining Hall, out on the veranda. Great food, very pleasant.
Phase 3: Chautauqua Dining Hall. A curious hummingbird moth sampled the flowers as we sipped our coffee.
Questions of the Night:
- What is the state of hibernation experienced by hummingbirds every night?
- What is a hummingbird moth?
All in all, another successful BNO.
* Footnote: C requires a few more hours of solo MC'ing before S & D will grant a license to MC Humpday events on her own. She must also pass the rigorous "instruments-only" examination, in which S & D observe the candidate as they MC a BNO while blindfolded. She must also author a blog post, which preferably garners one or more "likes;" or lacking a like, then perhaps a lol will suffice.
