Phase 1: Peak to Peak
With D at the wheel, C, D2, D and S ascended through the resplendent amber forests of Gold Hill, to the Peak to Peak Highway, in our annual trek to find some yellow leaves. We concluded the search at a scenic viewpoint along Highway 7, where we’d hoped to find a herd of bugling elk; alas, there were none. And so, as the crescent moon descended toward Longs Peak (or rather, Longs Peak ascended toward the moon), we loaded back into D’s Explorer and headed north to Estes.
Phase 2: Claires, Estes Park.
Phase 3: Starbucks, Estes Park.
