Warm enough for mud

Warm enough for mud

24 Jan 2024 Sanitas Valley Our fearless adventurers decided to do Sanitas Valley this afternoon, as did half the population of Boulder. Parking lots were full, except, happily enough, for two spots in the upper lot: one marked S, the other marked D.

A balmy-ish day, one supposes, temp around 48, just warm enough for mud. Blue-tagged dogs on and off leash, allegedly under voice and sight control. One decrepit ancient tennis ball on the muddy trail, waiting patiently for its dog.

One dog came along and flung its ball at its human companion, who was on her phone. The ball rolled down the trail, while the dog watched curiously. Finally the owner barked the expected phrase, whereupon dog and ball were reunited again, for a time.

Stone benches with various brass inscription placards. More people on cell phones, doing their version of voice and sight control.

S and D wandered a little higher than the usual stop, but there was too much mud. Not enough, however, to dampen the spirits of our intrepid explorers, who of course proclaimed it another successful BNO.
