Some Sunsets, Some Rain

“Who says we can’t see auroras in Colorado?”
Went up the meadowlark trail at about 7:30pm, thinking I’d have time before dark. It certainly seemed plentifully lit, when I started out, and pleasantly cloudy.
The sunset was like an aurora, and I was lucky enough to get some shots.
As the sun sank behind the mountains and darkness swallowed the landscape, the sky seemed increasingly foreboding. I alternated walking and jogging as I hurried down the trail. As a result, this turned out to be my fastest 3-5 mile hike (according to Runkeeper). Also one of my sweatiest.
As luck would have it, I made it back to the car just as the rain was starting. And now, as I type this, a bit of thunder.
Could do with a bit of rain, these days.
