Spring Breeze

Spring Breeze
The air moves like a river and carries the clouds with it; just as running water carries all the things that float upon it.
— Leonardo da Vinci

Phase 1: South Boulder Creek West

An early spring day, with people optimistically out exercising and enjoying the warm weather in shorts, tank-tops, and t-shirts. Our fearless adventurers, however, sensed the air was cooler than it seemed, and donned extra layers, just in case.

About half a mile up the trail, a meadowlark sat on some brambles, emitting an interesting trill[1]. Hadn't heard this call before. It reverted to the usual meadowlark shanty as we approached.

At some point a herd of dogs rambled past, accompanied by three bipedal companions. Several runners whizzed by at breakneck speed; stalwart and perhaps overconfident on this rock-strewn trail.

The trio discussed daylight savings time again and how to deal with the upcoming changes in time. Also numerous expensive-sounding trips to Arkansas and parts east.

Toward the end of the evening we saw these lenticular clouds hovering over the mountains. Some ripples appeared on the north side of the upper cloud, and slowly progressed southward along its length, leaving the cloud as smooth and shapely as its lower companion.

We had some questions of the night, but of course I've forgotten.

A relaxed and pleasant sojourn, and another successful BNO.
